Section M is a music production house founded in Montreal by composers-producers Gaëtan Gravel and Patrice Dubuc. Often rewarded by the film and television industry, the team has an excellent reputation for achieving various projects in different music styles. Their combined experience is the key for their success.
“We like to challenge ourselves. Trying many creative directions, exploring different narratives and emotions to find the ones that support the director’s vision, is how we work.”– said the duo.
Gravel and Dubuc signed the music scores of directors Charles Binamé, Rudy Barichello, Olivier Asselin movies. More recently, they did the music score of critically acclaimed and 2019 Canadian Foreign Film Orcar selection Family First of Sophie Dupuis, nominated for Best music at the 2018 Québec Cinéma Gala and Venus of Eisha Marjara.
Their work on Rudy Barichello’s Meetings with a Young Poet has been nominated at the Canadian Screen Awards and Jutra Awards and received the Alex North Award for Best Music Score on a Feature Film from Tenerife Film Music Festival in 2014. In 2016, their Elephant Song score was nominated for Best Original Score at the Québec Cinema awards.
They also worked on numerous television shows broadcasted on Food Channel, HGTV, National Geographic, Discovery Channel. In 2016 they received the coveted SOCAN 2016 Music for Television International Award for Cineflix’s FOOD FACTORY show.
